DMIT 1533 — Project Breakdown
My projects from DMIT 1533 Digital Photography, covering exposure theory, reciprocity failure, compositional principles, still life, and post-processing workflow using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Reciprocity & Motion
An exploration of reciprocity failure using long exposure photography, alongside intentional motion blur and backlit silhouette techniques to express movement, time, and light trails in low-light environments.
Texture & Perspective
Studies in surface texture and forced perspective compositions, using close-up detail shots and camera angle to transform familiar subjects into compelling abstract and architectural forms.
Compositional Rules
Practical exercises applying foundational compositional principles: rule of thirds, pattern recognition, leading lines, and selective depth of field, to strengthen visual storytelling and intentional framing.
Still Life
Controlled still life studies exploring the principles of visual balance, odd/even grouping, and compositional weight, using deliberate object arrangement and controlled lighting to guide the viewer's eye.
Orientation Study
A comparative study of camera orientation and aspect ratio, examining how portrait, landscape, and panoramic framing changes the narrative and spatial relationship within the same environment.
Photography Portfolio
Final photography portfolio bringing together advanced techniques: rule of thirds portrait work, HDR imaging for extended tonal range, panoramic post-processing, shallow depth-of-field framing, and low-light pattern photography.
